It was a rough week on the hardwoods as both Newton County Academy teams were swept in a pair of games.
The Generals fell 62-52 to Columbus Christian and 40-25 to Brookhaven while the Lady Generals lost 50-46 to Columbus and 53-15 to Brookhaven.
NCA will return to play on Tuesday as they host Hebron for senior night and travel to Kemper Academy on Friday.

The Rams used a big second half to take an eight-point win over the Generals.
Columbus led 13-12 at the end of the first before NCA outscored the Rams 16-10 and led 28-23 at the half. Columbus cut into NCA’s lead in the third period, outscoring the Generals 14-10 to make the lead 38-37 going into the fourth. Columbus outscored NCA 25-16 in the fourth to take the win.
Kemp Alderman led NCA with 22 points while Austin Upton had 14 points and Riley Boswell added 12 points.

The Lady Generals fought back from a first-half deficit but fell short in a four-point loss to the Lady Rams.
Columbus led 13-7 at the end of the first and 23-17 at the half. NCA fought back in the third as they outscored Columbus 17-12 in the third to cut the score to 35-34 going into the fourth. Columbus outscored NCA 15-12 in the fourth for the final margin.
Asten Russell led NCA with 14 points while Belle Hollingsworth added 11 points. Jordan Russell also pulled down 11 rebounds for the Lady Generals.
Brook. boys 40, NCA 25
The Cougars opened up an early lead in the first and took a 15-point win over the Generals on Thursday.
Brookhaven led 14-6 at the end of the first but NCA took the second period 9-4 and trailed 18-15 at the half. Brookhaven outscored NCA 13-5 in third to take a 31-20 lead into the fourth. Brookhaven outscored NCA 9-5 in the fourth.
Austin Upton led NCA with nine points while Kemp Alderman added eight points.
Brook. girls 53, NCA 15
The Lady Cougars jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 38-point win.
Brookhaven jumped out to a 28-3 lead in the first period and led 40-8 at the half. Brookhaven outscored NCA 7-5 in the third and 6-2 in the fourth.
Belle Hollingsworth led NCA with eight points.
