Nominations for East Central Community College’s 2019 Hall of Fame are just around the corner, when students will be joining the elite ranks of their peers, whose academic and athletic prowess left an everlasting impression on the college.
Among those students in Mackenzie Johnson, a 2018 Hall of Fame winner, a right-fielder who led East Central with a .445 batting average in the 2018 season and was among those who received the MACJC First Team All-State Honors.
Johnson, a Nanih Waiya native, who studied occupational therapy at ECCC, proved herself Hall of Fame worthiness both on the field and off at East Central, earning a 4.0 GPA while being actively involved in multiple on-campus clubs and organizations.
Those nominating Johnson said the drive she showed at East Central will carry her to any goal she has in mind.
“She is driven and always gives her best effort in all that she strives to do,” the nomination read. “She always has a smile on her face and is eager to assist with whatever needs to be done.”
