It was a rough week on the hardwood for Newton County.
Both teams lost three games last week in sweeps to Philadelphia, Leake County and Ridgeland.
Newton County will travel to Union on Tuesday and will host Newton on Friday night in their only scheduled games this week.
Ridgeland boys 66,
Newton County 32
The Titans outscored the Cougars in every period to take a 34-point win.
Ridgeland led 21-6 at the end of the first and 36-16 at the half. The Titans continued to pour it on and outscored County 19-6 in the third and 11-10 in the fourth.
Josiah Cleveland led newton County with 20 points while Donovan McCoy had six points.

Newton County 30
The Lady Titans overcame an early deficit and took a 10-point win over the Lady Cougars on Saturday at Philadelphia.
County led 10-5 at the end of the first and 16-15 at the half. But Ridgeland outscored County 13-7 in the third and 12-7 in the fourth to take the win.
Keasja Wansley led County with 14 points while Jaylen Mack and Nahriah Brown each had six points.
Philadelphia boys 61,
Newton County 33
The Tornadoes outscored the Cougars in every period to take a 28-point win on Friday.
Philly led 19-7 at the end of the first and 33-15 at the half. The Tornadoes outscored the Cougars 14-12 in the third and 14-6 in the fourth for the final margin.
Chris Thomas, Josiah Cleveland and Jamaal Croft each scored seven points apiece.

Newton County 31
The Lady Tornadoes used quicks starts to both halves to take a 27-point win.
Philly led 13-4 at the end of the first and 31-17 at the half. The Lady Tornadoes pulled way in the third, outscoring the Lady Cougars 16-4 to take a 47-21 lead.
Keasja Wansley and Leona Billy each had six points apiece while Hannah McDougle and Nahriah Brown each had four points apiece.
Leake County boys 67,
Newton County 45
The Gators used big advantages in the second and third period to take a 22-point win over the Cougars on Tuesday.
Leake led 20-16 at the end of the first before outscoring Newton County 16-8 in the second to lead 36-24. The Gators stretched out the lead in the third by outscoring the Cougars 22-8 for a 58-32 lead.
Jamaal Croft led County with 11 points while Chris Thomas had 10 points and Josiah Cleveland added seven points.
Leake County girls 68,
Newton County 51
The Gators broke open a close game in the third period to take a 17-point win over the Lady Cougars.
Leake jumped out to an 18-8 lead but County outscored the Lady Gators 22-15 in the second to cut the lead to 33-30 at the half. The Lady Gators then outscored the Lady Cougars 22-12 in the third and 13-9 in the fourth for the final margin.
Hannah McDougle led County with 12 points while Nahriah Brown had 11 points and Keasja Wansley had 10 points. Remini Nickey had eight points and Justina Hall added six points.
