The Lake basketball teams entered the Christmas break on a sour note after getting swept by Sebastopol on Monday night.
The Lady Hornets dropped a 37-20 decision to the Lady Bobcats while the Hornets fell 52-45.
Lake will return to action on Friday, Jan. 4 when they play at Mize.Then on Tuesday, Jan. 8, Lake will travel to Newton to open Division 4-2A play.
Sebastopol girls 37, Lake 20
the Lady Hornets struggled from the field as the Lady Bobcats took a 17-point win on Monday night.
Sebastopol jumped out to a 10-3 lead and led 19-12 at the half. The Lady Bobcats then outscored the Lady Hornets 8-1 in the third and 10-7 in the fourth to take the win
D’Nara Barton led Lake with seven points while Tra’Shaylay Wilson had six points and five steals. Laurel Breland also had six steals in the game.
Sebastopol boys 52, Lake 45
The Bobcats jumped out to a seven-point lead in the first half and maintained that advantage to a win over the Hornets.
Sebastopol led 16-9 at the end of the first and 22-18 at the half. The Bobcats outscored the Hornets 16-12 in the third to take a 38-30 lead going into the fourth.
Zywon Ledbetter led Lake with 12 points and seven rebounds. J’Lann Broadfoot had nine points and four rebounds while Danarrious Hughes added nine points. Tahi Lay had five rebounds while Brady McGee had four rebounds.
