The Newton County Academy tennis team kicked off the regular season with a pair of 7-2 wins last week, beating Park Place and Hartfield.
“This was a great start to our season,” NCA coach Pete Mazzella said. “We were a little rusty in spots but we pulled it out. The 1 girls doubles team from Park Place might be the best girls doubles team we have faced in my 15 years here. Their mixed team was also very strong. I think we learned a lot at those two positions to help us in the future.”
NCA is not scheduled to return to action until March 19 when they host Heritage at the East Central tennis complex.
