The Union Lady Yellowjackets overcame a season of struggles and took two games from Calhoun City on Monday.
Union beat Calhoun City 7-2 and 6-2 to advance in the Class 2A playoffs after losing game one of the series 4-1 on Saturday.
Union, now 13-10 on the season, will face East Union in the second round of the playoffs, which could start as soon as Tuesday.
Union 6, Calhoun City 2
The Lady Jackets completed the sweep of the Lady Wildcats on Monday with a four-run win.
Each team scored two runs in the first inning while Union scored one in the third and fourth while finishing off with two in the fifth.
Calhoun outhit Union 9-5 but the Lady Wildcats committed five errors.
Anna Grace Blount was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Dallas Brown was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Kenley Pullin also scored three runs for the Lady Jackets.
Britli Cleveland pitched all seven innings for the Lady Yellowjackets to pick up the win.
Union 7, Calhoun City 2
The Lady Yellowjackets used a five-run second inning and evened the series with the Lady Wildcats on Monday.
After scoring five in the second, Union added one in the fourth and sixth. Calhoun scored two in the top of the sixth.
Union had 10 hits as DaShayla Jackson was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Dallas Brown was 2-for-3 in the contest. Britli Cleveland was 2-for-3 with a double while Debbie Hunter singled and drove in two runs. Jordan Turner singled and drove in a run while Abbie Jenkins also scored two runs. Jackson had four stolen bases on the game.
Britli Cleveland pitched all seven innings and gave up two unearned runs on five hits while striking out four.
Calhoun City 4, Union 1
The Lady Jackets struggled at the plate in game 1 of the series as the Lady Wildcats took a three-run win on Saturday.
Calhoun scored one in the third and sixth and added two runs in the fifth. Union scored one in the fifth.
Calhoun outhit Union 9-4 in the contest. Ansley Rigby doubled while Kaleigh Vance singled and scored run. DaShayla Jackson and Dallas Brown also singled.
Britli Cleveland pitched all six innings for Union, scattering nine hits and giving up just one unearned run while striking out three.
Union 7, NE Lauderdale 1
The Lady Yellowjackets finished out the regular season with a solid win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday.
Union scored two in the first, fifth and sixth innings with one in the fourth. Northeast scored its run in the third.
Union outhit Northeast 8-2 in the game as Kenley Pullin was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Dallas Brown was 2-for-4 while Anna Grace Blount was 2-for-3. Debbie Hunter tripled and scored a run while Ansley Rigby walked twice and scored both times.
Britli Cleveland was dominant in the circle, pitched all seven innings in just 54 pitches, giving up just one run on two hits and a walk while striking out 11.
