After both teams suffered tough losses to Philadelphia on Friday night, a Saturday trip to Stringer was just what the doctor ordered.
The Lady Yellowjackets got the night started with a 62-39 win over Stringer while the Yellowjackets took a thrilling 61-59 win.
Against Philadelphia on Friday, the Union girls lost a 66-51 decision while the boys lost 73-25.
Union will finish out the regular season as they host Philadelphia on Tuesday night for Senior night and will host Newton on Friday night.
Union boys 61, Stringer 59
The Yellowjackets bounced back from a stinging loss to Philadelphia with a hard-fought, two-point win over the Red Devils.
Stringer led 14-11 at the end of the first and 30-27 at the half. Stringer outscored Union 20-18 in the third to lead 50-45 going into the fourth. The Yellowjackets turned on the pressure in the fourth and outscored the Red Devils 16-9 to take the two-point win.
J.T. Vance led the Yellowjackets with 23 points while Jamarcus Jones had 19 points. P.J. Gage also had nine points.
Union girls 62, Stringer 39
The Lady Yellowjackets won every period as they took a 23-point win over the Lady Red Devils on Saturday.
Union led 17-12 at the end of the first and 31-24 at the half. The Lady Jackets continued to extend the lead in the fourth, outscoring Stringer 13-10 to take a 44-34 lead at the half. The Lady Jackets finished off the game by outscoring the Lady Red Devils 18-5 to take the win.
Ansley Rigby led Union with 20 points while Keirra Russell had 14 points and Eryanna Mason had 10 points.

The Yellowjackets fell behind early and suffered their worst loss of the season to the Tornadoes on Friday.
Philly jumped out quick as they led 20-4 at the end of the first and 32-10 at the half. The Tornadoes kept pouring it on in the second half as they outscored Union 20-10 in the third and 21-5 in the fourth.
J.T. Vance led Union with 11 points while Jamarcus Jones had five points.

The Lady Tornadoes used a big second period to take an early lead and held that margin for the remainder of the game.
Philly led 16-12 at the end of the first and then outscored Union 19-5 in the second to lead 35-17 at the half. Union took the second half as they outscored Philly 20-18 in the third and 14-13 in the fourth to take the win.
Ansley Rigby led Union with 20 points while Eryanna Mason had 14 points and Keirra Russell chipped in six points.
