The Union Lady Yellowjackets won three games this past week, including a two-game sweep of Newton.
The Lady Yellowjackets beat Newton 16-1 and 20-4 and got a 4-2 win over Sebastopol on Saturday.
Union improves to 9-7 on the season and will travel to Lake on Tuesday in a key 4-2A contest. The Lady Yellowjackets will host the Lady Hornets on Thursday at 6 p.m. and then travel to Neshoba Central on Friday. They will finish out the regular season on Tuesday at Northeast Lauderdale.
Union 4, Sebastopol 2
The Lady Yellowjackets scored two runs in each of the last two innings to take a come-from-behind win over the Lady Bobcats on Friday.
Sebastopol scored one in the first before Union scored two in the top of the sixth to go up 2-1. Sebastopol scored one in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 2-2 before the Lady Yellowjackets scored two in the top of the seventh to take the win.
Union outhit Sebastopol 5-4 in the contest. Ansley Rigby singled, scored and drove in a run while Dallas Brown singled and had an RBI. Jordan Turner tripled and scored a run while Anna Grace Blount singled and scored a run. DaShayla Jackson also had a single.
Brown pitched all seven innings for Union and gave up two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two.
Union 16, Newton 1
The Lady Yellowjackets needed just 2 1/2 innings to take a run-rule win over the Lady Tigers on Tuesday.
Union scored seven in the first and nine in the second while Newton scored its only run in the third.
Union had 10 hits, six walks and four reach on errors. Kenley Pullin led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs scored and two RBIs. DaShayla Jackson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored while Ansley Rigby had a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Debbie Hunter scored two runs and had three RBIs while Kaydon Lee scored two runs and had two RBIs. Abbie Jenkins and Dallas Brown each scored two runs apiece.
Brown pitched all three innings and gave up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four.
Union 20, Newton 4
The second game of the day went two innings as Union swept the doubleheader.
Union scored 14 in the first and six in the second to take the win.
The Lady Yellowjackets had 15 walks and three hits in the contest.
