Newton Municipal School District: Superintendent Nickson to Retire, Shelby Named as 2025 Successor

After six years of leadership, Newton Municipal School District Superintendent Glenda Nickson has announced her retirement, effective June 2025, concluding a 35-year career in education. Nickson’s successor, Cola Payton Shelby, will assume the role in the 2025-2026 school year.
