I have failed the students and parents of the Newton Municipal School District.

Any apologies I can offer to you, especially to Tylin Parker, his family and everyone affected by Thursday’s shooting on the Newton Elementary School campus, are not enough to undo what has happened.

Police: No evidence to make arrest in shooting

Newton Chief of Police Randy Patrick said that they do not plan to charge anyone after a gun brought to Newton Elementary School Sept. 30 by a first grader was shot, seriously injuring a fellow first grader in the leg.
