Kemp Alderman named Florida State League Player of the Week

Newton County Academy graduate Kemp Alderman was named Florida State League Player of the Week for the week of July 7-13. Alderman slugged three home runs and led the Florida State League with 11 RBIs and 17 total bases on the week for the Single-A Jupiter Hammerheads.

Union Stingers 10u team wins it all at the 2024 Grand Slam World Series of Baseball

The Union Stingers 10u team travelled to Panama City Beach, Florida to compete in the 2024 Grand Slam World Series of Baseball tournament. Going 6-0 overall at the tournament, they beat teams from Georgia, Florida, Louisiana & Alabama to become the 10-Under AAA/Major Champions.

NCYO All-Stars compete in Dizzy Dean All-Stars Tournaments

The Newton County Youth Organization had four teams competing in the Dizzy Dean All-Stars tournaments this past weekend. The 7u and 9u tournament was held in Cleveland. The 10u tournament was held in Starkville and the 12u tournament was held in Louisville beginning on Thursday, June 13 and running through Sunday, June 16.
