Newton County Academy traveled more than two hours to take on North Sunflower Academy on Friday night.

But it only took a few minutes for the Generals to find the end zone.

The Generals jumped out to a 28-0 lead and cruised to a 48-12 win over the Rebels on Friday night.

High School Volleyball: Local Teams have Strong Seasons

Two area schools hosted state semifinal playoff matches on Monday.

Newton County hosted New Albany in a bid for back-to-back state championships and fell 3-1 to the Lady Bulldogs.

In Union, the Lady Yellowjackets hosted Ingomar and fell 3-1 to the Lady Falcons.
