Union Fire Department responded to a call on Bay Street last Tuesday where a mobile home had caught fire.
Firefighters worked to remove a portion of the wall to better access the blaze with fire hoses.
Fire Chief Dale Yates said the fire investigator had taken a look at the scene and ruled the incident an electrical fire.
“The fire investigator came and looked at it, and I believe he’s going to rule it an electrical fire,” he said.
Yates said the fire started at one of the electrical outlets in the bedroom.
“They had a fan plugged in in the bedroom, and I believe that’s where it started,” he said.
The mobile home’s single resident had left previously that morning to go to work and was not home at the time of the fire, Yates said.
“She was at work,” he said. “She works in Morton and left about 3 a.m.
No one else was reported living in the home and no injuries were reported.
