A Union woman is facing charges after her husband was stabbed Tuesday in a domestic disturbance on Mason Street.
Paula Mayes Campbell, 48, was booked into Newton County Jail at 5:52 p.m. Tuesday by Union Police Department.
Police Chief Billy Pat Walker said officers responded Tuesday afternoon to the home where they found both husband and wife injured in the fight.
“He got stabbed, and she got hit with a golf club,” he said.
Walker said the victim was taken to the hospital in Meridian with non-life threatening injuries. Campbell was later taken to the hospital as well.
“He went to the hospital, and she went later,” he said. “Of course, she was charged.”
Campbell is charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence. Walker said UPD is not currently considering charges for her husband.
