Softball: Lady Generals Take Two from Discovery Christian, Fall Twice to Laurel

The Newton County Academy Lady Generals won two out of four games last week.

The Lady Generals took two games from Discovery Christian, winning 14-2 and 18-0. On Saturday, NCA lost twice, falling 4-0 to Laurel Christian and 6-2 to Wayne.

Football: Generals Offense Rolls in Season Opener

It wasn’t a perfect season open for the Newton County Academy Generals, but it was good enough.

The Generals had more than 500 yards of total offense as they took a 36-14 win over visiting Benton Academy on Friday.

NCA improves to 1-0 on the season and will play at Russell Christian next week.

SOFTBALL: Lady Generals Lose Close One with Lamar, Rebounds against Sylva Bay

The Newton County Academy Lady Generals split a pair of games last week.

After a tough 5-4 loss to Lamar Christian on Tuesday, the Lady Generals took a 7-4 win over rival Sylva Bay on Thursday.

NCA was scheduled to host Discovery Christian on Monday and make the return trip on Tuesday.

Football Roundup: Generals Kickoff 2025 Season Friday

It is game week in Decatur as Newton County Academy kicks off its season on Friday as the General host Benton Academy in the season opener.

NCA coach Stevie Nelson said the Generals have had two good weeks of preparation as they prepare for Benton.
