BOY'S BASKETBALL: NCA boys struggle in Lamar tourney

The Newton County Academy Generals lost two of three games this past week in the Lamar School Christmas Tournament.

After a 60-35 loss to St. Patrick to open the tournament, the Generals took a 52-41 win over Laurel Christian on Tuesday.

The Generals then fell 58-39 to Lamar School on Wednesday to finish out the week.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Newton County Academy gets 1 win in tough tourney

The Newton County Academy girls faced some tough competition in the Lamar School Christmas Bash this past week.

The Lady Generals opened up the week with a 44-33 win over Morton on Monday before losing to two of the largest schools in the MAIS, falling 64-17 to Jackson Academy and 49-16 to Presbyterian Christian.

BASKETBALL: Generals struggle with Lamar

The Newton County Academy basketball team played just one game last week, falling in both games to Lamar School.

The Lady Generals fell 59-42 to Lamar School while the Generals fell 67-30.
