Braiden Estes has signed to play tennis at the next level. The Newton County High School Senior has been a member of the NCHS Tennis Team for 4 years. Braiden finished his high school career with 45 wins and helped lead the Cougar Tennis Team to the 4A State Finals this season. He earned division champ two times, qualified for the state tournament twice and played in the boys singles state semifinals this season. Braiden plans to join the team at East Central Community College next season. Newton County High School Senior Samantha Boykin, a six-year tennis veteran, has signed to play tennis at East Central Community College next season. She finished her career at County with 73 wins and helped lead the Cougar Tennis Team to the 4A State Finals this season. She has won 2 division championships and qualified for the state tournament 3 times. Samantha has played in three state semifinals and two state finals, including the finals in mixed doubles this season. Lady Bobcats Sweeps Ingomar to Extend Win Streak to Seven

The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats won their seventh straight game as the swept two games from Ingomar in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs.

The Lady Bobcats took an 8-1 win in game 1 and then finished off with a 13-4 win on Saturday to take the series.

Cougars Sweep Kosciusko, Advance to Class 4A Quarterfinals

The Newton County Cougars got over the .500 mark in a big way this past week.

The Cougars took a pair of wins last week, beating 20-win Kosciusko 5-0 on Friday and 12-2 on Saturday to sweep the Class 4A second-round playoff series.
