Newton County Grand Jury convened last month to hear new cases and pass down indictments. Here are the new criminal cases for arraignment.
Judge Collins:
• Joseph Ward, indicted on one charge of possession of a cell phone in a correctional facility, bond denied
• Joseph Carl Dean Jr., indicted on three counts burglary of a storage dwelling, bond set at $35,000; and one count of burglary of a storage shed, bond set at $25,000
• Joshua K. Womak, indicted on one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, bond set at $25,000
• George Levon Ezell, indicted on one count burglary of a storage shed, bond set at $25,000
Judge Duncan:
• Arthur Bake Kyzar, indicted on one count simple assault of a law officer, bond set at $10,000
• Zachary Bryan Decker, indicted on one count burglary of a dwelling, bond set at $25,000
• Joseph Paul Warren, indicted on one count taking away a motor vehicle – habitual offender, bond set at $25,000
• Ravon Datroy Evans, indicted on one count failure to register as a convicted sex offender – habitual offender, bond set at $50,000
