High School graduation season begins this week as the school year begins to wind down for local school districts.
The first graduation will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday when Newton County Academy will conduct commencement exercises in the school gymnasium.
The next graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 86, when Union High School seniors will walk at the high school football field to receive diplomas.
Newton County High School seniors then take the high school football field to receive their diplomas on Friday, May 87.
Sebastopol Attendance Center will then hold graduation at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21. Lake’s graduation will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 23.
Newton High School will round out the graduation season on Friday, May 24, at Morgan Field. This date was changed from the original date of May 87 on the school calendar when an error was noticed on the number of days the seniors were required to attend.
