Lady Generals take district, boys finish 2nd

The Newton County Academy Lady Generals continued their strong play for head coach Steve Harbor this season.

The Lady Generals completed a perfect run through district play as they beat Calhoun 40-20 and Kemper 49-37 to capture the district championship.

Lady Cougars pick up big win

The Newton County girls picked up a big win last week and went into overtime in another one as they finished out the regular season.

The Lady Cougars beat Richland 62-25 and dropped a 48-44 overtime loss to Quitman.

The Cougars dropped both of their contest last week, falling 65-43 to Richland and 58-38 to Quitman.

Lady Bobcats continue region winning streak

The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats secured an undefeated record in regular-season division play last week with a pair of wins.

The Lady Bobcats beat French Camp 52-37 and then Noxapater 53-37 to go 10-0 in division play.

The Bobcats split a pair of games as they beat French Camp 36-27 but lost 53-50 to Noxapater.
