The Newton County Academy Lady Generals got their fast-pitch softball season kicked off last week.
The Lady Generals traveled to Winston Academy and were shut out 8-0 as the Lady Patriots got a 16-strikeout, no-hit effort.
The Lady Generals have a full schedule of games this week as they are set to host Winston Academy on Monday. NCA will host Wayne on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. and then host Prentiss Christian on Thursday. NCA will then go to the Hartfield Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Generals didn’t manage a hit as they were shut out by the Lady Patriots on Friday.
Winston scored one in the first, third and fourth innings while exploding for five runs in the second inning.
Winston outhit NCA 11-0 in the contest while the Lady Generals struck out 16 times at the plate.
The Lady Generals had four ways in the contest, two by Anna Turner and one apiece by Belle Hollingsworth and Cayden Alexander.
Alexander had two stolen bases awhile Macie Wooden also had a stolen base.
Lilly Hollingsworth started on the mound for the Lady Generals and pitched all six innings, giving up eight runs, only three earned, on 11 hits and three walks while striking out four.
