BELDEN, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) wants to inform the public of the reopening of Trace State Park in Belden, Mississippi, effective Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Park reservations for Trace State Park will also reopen tomorrow.

JACKSON, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is providing an update on the temporary closure of nine state parks in North Mississippi due to the hazardous conditions caused by a significant winter ice storm. The closures have been extended until further notice.

TOOMSUBA, MS – The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) has closed Lake Tom Bailey to public access. MDWFP began draining the lake to make repairs to the dam. Once construction is complete, the lake will be filled and restocked with fish.

TOOMSUBA, MS - The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) began draining Lake Tom Bailey today to make repairs to the dam. The 182-acre state fishing lake is located 8 miles east of Meridian on Highway 11 in Lauderdale County.
