The East Central Community College Gospel Choir and its alumni are hosting a Retirement Gala and Recognition Banquet Saturday, April 23, in honor of recently retired director Brenda K. Johnson.

Johnson of Lawrence retired in January after providing leadership for the ECCC Gospel Choir since 1988.

LeVar Robinson has been selected to serve as sponsor and director of East Central Community College’s Gospel Choir.

Robinson, of Morton, takes over for Brenda K. Johnson, who recently retired. Johnson provided leadership for the ECCC Gospel Choir from 1988-2022.

Education: ECCC gets joint grant to grow lineman program
