Lake girls get win two of three for week

The Lake Lady Hornets won two of three contest last week.

Lake led 41-26 to Newton to open the week and then beat Philadelphia 57-41 on Friday and Scott Central 42-40 on Saturday.

Meanwhile the Lake boys suffered three losses as they fell 69-40 to Newton, 61-46 to Philadelphia and 46-34 to Scott Central.

Lady Hornets pull away to take county title

The Lake Lady Hornets bounced back from a Tuesday loss to Newton to win the Scott County Tournament.

The Lady Hornets opened the tournament with a 34-30 win over Sebastopol and then took a 48-43 win over Forest.

The Hornets beat Scott Central 50-31 in the semifinals and then lost to Morton 52-36 in the finals.
