BASKETBALL: Generals take 3-seed to tourney

The Newton County Academy boys finished an undefeated run through District 2-AA play this past week with a pair of wins.
The Generals beat Hebron 43-33 on Tuesday and then beat Kemper Academy 51-40 on Friday night.
The Lady Generals also won both games last week as they beat Hebron 67-48 on Tuesday and Kemper 58-40 on Friday.

BASKETBALL: Generals close in on district title with win

The Newton County Academy Generals moved a step closer to a district championship with a solid 54-30 win over Columbus Christian in their only action last week.

The Generals built an early lead and kept pouring it on as they took a 24-point win over the Rams on Friday.

BASKETBALL: Generals cruise in district play

Both NCA basketball teams grabbed a pair of much-needed wins this past week in district play.

On Tuesday, NCA traveled to Hebron Christian as the Lady Rams took a 65-35 win while the Generals took a 41-40 win with a last-minute winner from Riley Boswell.
