SOFTBALL: Lady Cougars rack up three wins including 2 in district

The Newton County Lady Cougars won all three games they played last week and improved to 13-5 on the season.

The Lady Cougars opened the week with a 13-1 win over Mendenhall on Monday and then beat the Lady Tigers 17-5 on Friday. County finished out the week with a 6-0 win over Clarkdale on Saturday.

Baseball: Yellowjackets struggle in 2 games with rival Clarkdale

The Union Yellowjackets returned from spring break and got in a pair of Division 5-3A games last week.

The Yellowjackets dropped a pair of division games to Clarkdale, falling 11-0 on Monday and 12-2 on Friday.

BASEBALL: Bobcats go 4-1, 2-0 in division play

The Sebastopol Bobcats won four out of five games in a busy week of baseball.

The Bobcats won two division games last week, beating McAdams 26-0 and 22-0 while losing 11-4 to Scott central on Thursday. On Saturday, Sebastopol beat Forest 4-2 and Philadelphia 14-0.
